Get involved and you can:

  • gain access to "members' only" information on this website
  • meet fellow enthusiasts on our castle tours and picnic events
  • visit historical properties not normally open to the public on some of our regular organised tours
  • be sent a copy, or download, a copy of our annual publication, The Journal, containing comment, topical articles, reports on visits, correspondence and features on castles and the people who care for them
  • access information on properties available for restoration
  • get advice on repair and restoration problems and on dealing with planning and conservation authorities
  • find information on architects, craftsmen and materials suppliers with specialist knowledge of traditionally-built properties
  • get advice on obtaining grant aid and other forms of financial assistance towards restoration and maintenance from people who have been through the process
  • participate in bringing the Association's influence to bear on decision-makers in the areas of conservation, restoration and maintenance of Scotland's castles, towers and fortified houses
