Blairlogie Castle - Stirlingshire

Blairlogie Castle
Blairlogie Castle

Standing in a strong position in the Ochils, Blairlogie Castle is a small rectangular tower, said to date from 1513, of two storeys and an attic. To this was added a stair wing in 1582, making it L-plan. It has corbie-stepped gables, and was later extended and altered. The basement of the original tower is vaulted, and the hall occupied the first floor. Blairlogie was a possession of the Spittal family from the late 15th Century until 1767, when it passed by marriage to the Dundases of Blair. The castle was used as a farmhouse, and is occupied.
